The Electric Swing Circus is a live 6-piece fusion of saucy 20’s swing and stomping electro beats. With an explosive sound that reverberates back through time, the ESC hotfoot their way through everything from breakbeat and house to reggae and dubstep, all with their own unique style of swing.
In just two years, the Electric Swing Circus have risen to become the hottest live electro-swing act in the UK. This stunning 6 piece is now established as firm UK and European festival favourites, with international shows and tours planned for 2014. Drawing influence
from 1920’s swing and jazz, the explosive sound of the Electric Swing Circus reverberates back through time, re-inventing the genre of electro-swing for an ever expanding, multi-generational audience.
The ESC’s sound is a powerful combination of electric double bass, vintage samples, gypsy-jazz guitar, keys, live drums, dirty synths and electro beats. Fronted by a sassy and engaging female double-act, who perform an extensive variety of vocal styles, the ESC delivers a consistently dazzling show.
The ESC has a strong online and social media presence, including over half a million views on YouTube and over 10,000 Facebook fans, with both numbers growing daily. Their songs, EP, album and various remixes are widely available to listen to and download across the internet.
July 2013 saw the release of the band’s crowd-funded debut, selftitled album on Ragtime Records. The band had an incredible
response from their fanbase and they well-exceeded their crowd-fund target. This benchmark, self-titled album, in the still-young electroswing genre, has had a positive worldwide reception from press and fans alike. The album is available on iTunes and Spotify along with all major online music retailers. Physical copies of the album are also available, and a limited edition vinyl has been produced.
The band are active in the electro-swing scene as a whole, running their own annual festival – Swingamajig, and regular club night – Hot Club de Swing, as well as curating electro-swing acts for events and stages across the UK and Europe.
